Gabe

Gabe Sorenson has spent the majority of his life working with animals and developing the leadership skills that continue to shape his career. His experience in the animal industry began in middle school, working at a small pet store and dog grooming business. After college, he worked for the Placer SPCA, a nonprofit animal shelter in Roseville, California, while also gaining hands-on veterinary experience as an overnight Veterinary Assistant at a 24-hour animal hospital.

Gabe later served as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Roseville Police Department for six years before advancing into a supervisory role and serving as an Assistant Public Information Officer. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside numerous animal rescues and military-focused animal nonprofits, further strengthening his commitment to animal welfare. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento.

Beyond his professional experience, leadership has been a consistent part of Gabe’s life. He has coached football at levels ranging from youth leagues to adult semi-professional teams and is a member of the Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player. A former strongman competitor, Gabe has also coached athletes in powerlifting and strongman and worked as a strength and conditioning coach for mixed martial arts athletes. These experiences have helped shape his approach to teamwork, mentorship, and leading people toward a common goal.

Gabe brings his extensive animal experience, public service background, and leadership skills to Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the gym and hiking with his family and dog.
