Dr. Saponas was born and raised in Colorado. She earned her Honors Bachelor of Science in Zoology with an Animal Science minor from Oregon State University. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The University of Missouri-Columbia. After veterinary school Dr. Saponas decided humidity did not agree with her and moved west to Las Vegas where she remained for nearly 20 years at the same practice. She is over the heat and big city life and is happy to be in a place with 4 seasons again. She has a special interest in Behavior and Internal Medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Saponas is typically with her four-legged kids: Moo, a Siamese Mix; Jordan, an Australian Shepherd, and Echo and Solar Flare, Border Collies. She competes in Agility, Scent Work, and is hoping to start competing soon in herding. When not training with her dogs, she can usually be found with a good book or messing around on her computers or RV. She also enjoys hiking and camping.
