She finds the same kind of caring people work in the field of animal health as she found in human healthcare. REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
Jess and Monica draw blood Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) have specialized education, on the job experience, and have passed a national and state exam to obtain their licenses. They must attend Continuing Education courses annually to maintain their licenses. These skilled professionals monitor anesthesia, assist with surgery, collect laboratory specimens, place catheters, take radiographs, perform dental cleanings and extractions, and assist the veterinarians in the medical care of your pets (much like a Registered Nurse assists the physician). Many of our RVTs obtained their licenses while working here full time. We are proud of our highly trained staff.

TECHNICIANS IN TRAINING
Tammy with Prep We are proud to participate in Southern Nevada Community College's Veterinary Technician Program. Our Veterinary Assistants who enroll in this program attend courses and learning labs as well as receiving on the job training. They receive a certificate from the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Examiners allowing them to perform tasks under Veterinary or RVT supervision so they may ultimately take the examinations to become Registered Veterinary Technicians.

VETERINARY ASSISTANTS
Lisa OPN Vaccine Our Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of our support staff team. They administer treatments, hold patients for procedures and care, assist with radiographs, assist with surgical prep and surgeries, aid in recovering surgical patients, do laboratory work, and assist the RVTs and Veterinarians in the medical care of your pet.

ANIMAL CARETAKERS
Crystal P and Kennels Our Animal Caretakers are the "hands on" caregivers for hospitalized pets. These caring team members feed, exercise, clean, maintain a sanitary environment and give lots of TLC to pets requiring hospitalization. They also keep our hospital clean, well stocked and running smoothly. While working as caretakers they often receive on the job training that leads to other positions such as Veterinary Assistants or Receptionists.

PURCHASING AGENT, ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT AND BOOKKEEPER
We have many "behind the scenes" team members who keep our hospital running smoothly. Our Purchasing Agent keeps our busy hospital stocked and handles special orders to meet our clients' needs. Our Administrative Assistant has many duties including making the appointment book pages, tabulating personnel data, gathering bids for outside services, and handling the banking.
