Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital Kitten Plans

Congratulations to adding a new family member to your home. This will be a fun filled time for you and your family. As you may already know, there are a few things that you will need to do to ensure the health of your kitten. Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital has created a plan to help ensure your kitten’s continued health. Kittens need to begin receiving vaccinations against infectious disease at 8 weeks of age. Kittens receive a series of PCR vaccine to protect them against Panleukopenia and upper respiratory viruses (Calicivirus & Rhinotracheitis). We also recommend testing your kitten for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Feline Aids (FIV). The FELV vaccine is recommend for cats that will be indoor/outdoor. There is no vaccine for Feline Aids.

It is necessary to give your kitten a series of vaccinations every three to four weeks until 12 weeks of age. The Rabies vaccination is given at 14-16 weeks of age. Two fecal parasite tests are done to check your kitten for intestinal parasites.

To simplify everything needed for your new kitten, we have created a schedule plan for all of the necessary vaccinations. We offer two different packages, the “The Kitten Plan”, as well as 

“The Premium Kitten Plan”, explained below.
