- Participation in community events such as D.A.R.E. Halloween
Safety Street. Our doctors and staff volunteer to dress up,
decorate and distribute candy each year at our local Safety
Street Event. We also participate in other events that benefit
the community.
- Low cost spay/neuter and vaccination program through
Douglas, Alpine and Mono Counties. When adopting a pet through
these agencies simply obtain the proper paper work and call to
schedule an appointment. We also offer a complimentary initial
wellness exam for pets adopted through Douglas County to get you
started off right with your new family member.
- Boy Scouts of America Merit Badges. Call our Hospital
Administrator to arrange a meeting with a participating
veterinarian.
- School Career Days, Sophomore "Shadows" and Internships.
We are pleased to host many students from our area schools
throughout the year as they watch and learn about the day to
day operations of a veterinary hospital. Our Veterinarians
and Support Staff are also willing to come to your school to
speak at Career Day. If you are interested in more information
about internships, school vocational placements or career day
presentations please contact our Hospital Administrator.
- Presentations to kennel clubs and area groups. Our
Veterinarians and Support Staff are available to speak to
your kennel club, 4H, FFA or other groups on a variety of
pet related topics. If you are interested in arranging a
speaker please contact our Hospital Administrator.
- Group tours and children visitation programs for schools
and other organizations. We are happy to arrange tours of
the hospital to classes, "Brownies", "Cub Scouts", and other
children's groups. A tour of the facility and a talk with
one of our veterinarians can be arranged by contacting our
Hospital Administrator.
- Externship programs for veterinary technicians at Southern
Nevada Career College. As discussed under the Technicians in
Training section of this website, we participate in this program
to help train students in the hands on tasks involved in
becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician.
